Croatia 2019: Currently many marinas full!
The 2019 water sports season in Croatia is booming. At the latest since the beginning of the Italian holidays “Ferragosto” also the ports and marinas are filled up to the last berth. After the meanwhile usual traffic jam at the border crossings the skippers in the area of the Croatian Adriatic now have to adjust to traffic jams in front of the marinas and city ports.
A picture taken by the SeaHelp crew on 7 August 2019 in front of the Mali Losinj city harbour shows what this looks like: Marina and city harbour were so overcrowded that the yachts already had to anchor in front of the city harbour. Free berths? No chance! That’s the way it should be at the moment in – or better – in front of many other marinas. Among others the ACI Marina Korcula seems to hardly be able to cope with the rush of visitors.
SeaHelp therefore advises all skippers travelling off the coast of Croatia in August to reserve a berth in good time or to check wheter there is still capacity available at a marina or town harbour. This avoids unnecessary waiting times.
