Emergency call for boat and yacht accidents

Sending out an emergency call correctly

How is help provided and what must Sea-Help members do?

The SeaHelp app with the emergency call function is available to all skippers without exception, regardless of whether they have a membership or not. The only difference between members and non-members: The cost of the service. While for members almost all SeaHelp services (according to the status of the booked membership) are free of charge, requests for help from non-members can only be processed against reimbursement of the costs for the respective effort as specified in the SeaHelp price list. SeaHelp advises to take out an appropriate membership.

Send out an emergency call

Fast and reliable with the SeaHelp app

To do this, move the red emergency call button (SOS) on the SeaHelp app from left to right and confirm the emergency call by sending the emergency text message. An emergency SMS* is automatically sent to the SeaHelp operations centre, containing and transmitting both the mobile phone number and the current position data.

A SeaHelp employee from the operations centre will immediately call back to get an overview of the situation. A SeaHelp rescue boat will then be dispatched and/or other necessary actions will be initiated immediately.
