Ravni Zakan: A bay for dreaming and enjoyment

Adria, Area guide, Croatia, Food and drinks, Highlights (SeaMagazine), Top-News, Video news

Ravni Zakan island, especially with its mooring bay Uvala Zakan and the Konoba Zakan based there inflames passions among those mooring or anchoring there again and again. There are actually found just two opinions in forum entries: Those who consider the offered food and drinks grossly overpriced and those who praise it to the skies, nevertheless, the words of praise being in the majority. But, as the saying goes: Questions of good taste should not be argued? and, therefore, SeaHelp is not willing to participate in this discussion, the more so as it is quite impossible to distuinguish between reality and fake anymore.

But one thing is clear: The Konoba Zakan is among the top ten of the Croatian Konobas, though, admittedly, the corresponding prices are quite high. But, as many visitors will confirm, the price-performance ratio is largely justified. Anybody expecting a cheap, rustic Konoba, though, is definitely out of place here. It is more a trendy Konoba-style restaurant than a Konoba aiming to be a restaurant. Or, to put it differently: Good, but expensive.

Visitors are well advised to study the pricelist outside first before ordering. This will save you from unpleasant surprises when the waiter comes to present the bill. But, in any case, you wouldnÕt expect a star restaurant with the price level of a village pub abroad, would you?

Considering the location and the ambience of this unique bay, it is certainly a place one should have visited.
