For many skippers in the northern Adriatic, it has been a fixed part of every sailing trip for years: a quick stop in Krk at the fuel station “on the corner” on the western side of the bay before setting off or heading home. But that could be over for the time being from mid-June.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to information from conversations with staff on site, the INA fuel station<\/a> in the harbour of Krk is to be closed from 15 June 2026 until further notice. According to the current situation, both the boat fuel station and the directly adjacent road fuel station for cars opposite are affected. Repair and construction work was cited as the reason. A reliable statement on the duration of the closure is therefore not possible at this time. Whether the closure is permanent or only temporary also remained open, according to staff.<\/p>\n

No official confirmation of the scope and schedule of the work was available by the time this article went to press. The information comes from a conversation with fuel station staff on site. The facility in question is located on the western edge of Krk’s town harbour on the promenade \u0160etali\u0161te Svetog Bernardina 8 \/ corner of Lukobran and has a marine fuel station that can be approached directly from the water.<\/p>\n

The closure would have considerable practical consequences for boaters. Particularly during the high season, Krk is one of the most important supply and fuelling points in the entire Kvarner area for many crews \u2013 not only for the island of Krk itself, but also for trips towards Rab, Cres, Lo\u0161inj or back to the mainland. Anyone based in Krk or chartering from there frequently uses the station as the last or first fuel stop of their trip.<\/p>\n
