On January 20, it was finally time to cast off again for boot Düsseldorf, and the world’s largest water sports show is surfing the wave of success again in 2024. In Halls 1 to 17, there will be 220,000 square meters of fun, sports and games to watch and actively participate in until 28 January. Almost 1,100 boats are moored in Halls 1 to 6, 7a, 9, 15 and 16, plus houseboats in Hall 13 and canoes in Hall 14.

The trade fair in Düsseldorf is also the most important business platform, especially for the international boat and accessories industry. Exhibition Director Wolfram Diener says: “Every year, we welcome almost 40,000 professionals from all over the world here alongside the 200,000 water sports fans. These are people who work in the water sports business – ranging from the operators of a surfing or sailing school to diving center owners, charter providers or people who want to invest in yachts. For these visitors, we have put together our own specialist programme and organized specialist seminars and conferences.

boot 2024 is a show of superlatives with many premieres for motorboats and sailing yachts

For boot Director Petros Michelidakis, the high density of premieres at the world’s leading trade fair is a particularly great result: “boot 2024 is a show of superlatives. We have unique world premieres of motorboats and sailing yachts on board. Superboat Hall 5 has been on a hugely successful course since boot 2020. Here you will find everything that makes a name for itself in luxury tenders.

Our home port for the superyachts in Hall 6 is also shining in all its glory. And the range in Halls 15 and 16 with the international market leaders in the sailing industry is second to none.” For example, the sleek Sailing yacht Hallberg Rassy 69 will be celebrating its world premiere in front of an international audience at boot.

Famous charter providers show the uniqueness of a vacation on the water with sailing yachts, motorboats and houseboats

Dreaming of vacations in southern climes in cold, wintry January is great fun at Destination Seaside in Halls 13 and 14, which attracts exhibitors from the world’s most popular regions and is the international travel market for sports and vacations on, in and around the water.

Country presentations from countries such as Egypt, Greece, Indonesia, Croatia, Mauritius, Trinidad and Tobago or Cyprus invite visitors to dream about the coming vacation season. Renowned charter providers show the uniqueness of a vacation on the water with sailing yachts and motorboats. Gliding gently along the rivers and lakes of Central Europe on a houseboat has also become increasingly popular in recent years and viewing the boats is an attractive attraction in the Seaside destination.

Dive in yourself in the futuristic diving tower in Hall 12

Dive into fascinating underwater worlds in diving halls 11, 12 and the north of hall 13. Manufacturers and retailers will be bringing their innovative ideas and the latest diving equipment to Düsseldorf and inviting fans to store at the trade fair.

In addition, all beginners and professionals can try diving for themselves in the taster pool and the futuristic diving tower in Hall 12. The exciting diving slots, such as introductory diving for beginners, mermaiding, diving workshops for advanced divers or apnoea diving with just one breath, can be booked at boot.de.

A special crowd-puller in Hall 12 is the Dive Center stage. Presenters Anna von Boetticher and Jan Schulte will guide visitors through the program for nine days. This year’s guests will once again include many well-known filmmakers and adventurers who will take the audience on an emotional journey into the underwater world.

They include Morne Hardenberg, underwater cameraman from South Africa, Florian Fischer, Dada Li and Peter Löseke from Behind The Mask, dancer, filmmaker and freediver Julie Gautier, underwater photographer Tobias Friedrich, Claudia and Hendrik Schmitt from The Jetlagged, freediver Nik Linder, apnoea diver and photographer Fred Buyle, actor and environmental activist Hannes Jaenicke and journalist and presenter Dirk Steffens.

In the diving halls, manufacturers and retailers will be showcasing everything divers need for exciting underwater tours

Market leaders such as Mares, Cressi, Padi, bts Europe, NRC International, Verband Deutscher Sporttaucher, Aqua Lung and XDeep will be presenting the latest diving equipment. In addition, trips can be booked directly with numerous destinations such as Egypt, Curacao or Indonesia.

The popular Water Pixel World offers the latest film and photo equipment with technical refinements for spectacular shots. On stage, professionals from the underwater film scene will give tips and report on the special tricks of filming under the surface of the sea.

An abundance of sailing yachts and boats are moored in Halls 15 and 16

The global players are on board with their complete fleets and premieres, as are newcomers and innovative start-ups. Almost 100 manufacturers provide a complete picture of the industry. Sailing enthusiasts meet in the Sailing Center and on the stage in Hall 15.

Surrounded by various class associations, it offers a unique platform for all sailing fans and the big names of the international sailing scene will be there. Legends such as sailing veteran Burghard Pieske as well as current shooting stars of the offshore scene such as Rosalin Kuipper from the Netherlands will be there.

The women, who have already made it onto the international regatta scene, support young female sailors to gain a foothold in offshore sailing. The pioneer here is the “Women Offshore Sailors X The Magenta Project”. Patron Annie Lush presents the innovative support for young German female sailors in offshore sailing.

Pure action can be found in Hall 17 at the boot trend sports festival

This is where the surf scene meets in all its facets. 40 manufacturers and retailers will be showcasing the latest trends in wingsurfing and foiling, wakeboarding, pump foiling, SUP and classic windsurfing. Numerous hands-on activities, which can be booked online at boot.de, attract active people to the boot surfing area in the 60×20 meter and 1.10 m deep action pool.

At exciting contests on boot weekends, the pros show what they can do on a narrow board. And the list of surfing celebrities who meet in Hall 17 reads like a “who’s who” of the scene: Balz Müller, Xavi Corr, Finn Flügel, Michael Näf, Laura Rudolph, Alan Fedit, Elias Ouahmid, Björn Dunkerbeck, Liam Dunkerbeck, Philip Köster, Nick Spangenberg, Nils Hammelrath, Finn Hammelrath, Carsten Kurmis and Ole Schwarz.

Meanwhile, families with younger children can enjoy some time out on a peaceful canoe tour through a Canadian-style forest setting in the World of Paddling or view the classically beautiful boat treasures in the Classic Forum in Hall 14. There are also great insights into the exciting everyday life of the water police, including a tour of the largest Wapo boat in NRW, or into the indispensable work of the sea rescuers on the North Sea and Baltic Sea.

Over 1,500 exhibitors will be transforming the North Rhine-Westphalian state capital into the world capital of water sports until January 28. SeaHelp is also traditionally taking part. The friendly staff will be on hand to provide advice about SeaHelp insurance and the benefits of membership. By the way: anyone who purchases a membership at the trade fair saves 10 percent on the membership fee for the first year.
