Remember: from Thursday, March 6, 10 a.m. to Sunday, March 9, 2025, 6 p.m., it’s time for Boot Tulln again! 320 exhibitors from 24 nations will be presenting premieres and innovations in the field of boats and water sports. Sailing yachts, sailboats, catamarans, trimarans, dinghies, motor yachts, motor boats, electric boats and inflatable boats will be on display. Other topics include training, diving, paddling, fun sports, tourism, chartering and accessories.

What can you see where? While Hall 3 is all about fun sports, Hall 6 is all about paddling, and Hall 8 is all about diving, Hall 3 is mainly for motor yachts, motorboats and electric boats. One hall further on, in Hall 4, everything revolves around the topics of tourism and chartering (in addition to sailing in Halls 4, 5 and 10). Numerous experts are available here for trip advice and information on individual areas and insider tips. (Link to supporting program)

This year, a visit to the Austrian BoatShow is particularly worthwhile, because Croatia specialist SeaHelp, represented on the Croatian Adriatic for over 20 years, will be giving a lecture on the topic “Croatia News – current developments for recreational boaters at first hand from Croatia specialists – What should you know as a skipper, what should you bear in mind?” on every day of the fair.

SeaHelp will be giving daily lectures at this year’s boat show on the subject of Croatia.

Wolfgang Dauser of Sea-Help GmbH, as a profound expert on the Croatian boating scene, will give 30- to 45-minute lectures (each at 1 p.m. at the Sea-Help stand) on all topics related to water sports in Croatia and will be available to answer visitors’ questions afterwards. Registration is not required, but arriving on time will ensure the best seats.

Among other things, information will be provided on: existing and new rules/regulations for registering privately used boats/yachts in Croatia, an explanation of the most important legal provisions in Croatia relating to boating, the numbers of deployments of the authorities and Sea-Help from the 2024 season.

In particular, comments will be made on questions of current interest, for example:

  • Do you still have to check in in Croatia? What does border control for sports and leisure boats depend on? When is an entry check required upon arrival in Croatia?
  • Will crew lists remain part of border controls? Does it have to be stamped by the relevant port authority upon arrival from a third country?
  • What about the obligation to pay the vignette and the tourist tax? When are boats exempt from paying the tourist tax?
  • Do sports skippers under a foreign flag (e.g. Austrian) always have to have a copy of the VAT receipt on board?
  • What types of liabilityinsurance are there in Croatia? For which boats is liability insurance required by law?
  • Are you allowed to assign a crew member to steer the boat/yacht in Croatia?
  • What are the rules for sailing along the coast – for example, how much distance must be kept from the shore? What speed limits apply?
  • When do you have to wear life jackets on boats/yachts in Croatian waters?
  • Finally: which of SeaHelp’s nautical breakdown services are statistically the most frequently used, and why is a SeaHelp membership particularly useful in Croatia?
