If you are traveling by yacht along the Croatian coast, you want to know where it is worthwhile for the crew to stop for a bite to eat. So it’s a good thing that the magazine series Momentas – exploring memorable places has been published since 2016, focusing on special places, especially restaurants, in a particular region of Dalmatia. Following the volumes published so far from the Momentas series Kornati & Šibenik Archipelago (2016), Island of Mljet (2017), Island of Vis (2018) and Island of Lastovo in combination with culinary highlights of the Kornati (2020,) as well as parts 1 + 2 of the Gourmet Stars, the third part of the Gourmet Stars along the Adriatic is now being published. Part 3 / Edition 2024 will be available from January 15, 2024 and costs 25 euros plus shipping costs.
In the current third edition of Gourmet Stars, 30 selected restaurants – from quaint konobas to top restaurants – from the Istrian island of Rab down to the island of Lastovo in southern Dalmatia are described and illustrated in detail. New additions include the Kvarner Bay from a culinary perspective.
Author and publisher Thomas Schedina from Vienna turned his hobby into a profession: the busy graphic designer and printer with his own office & workshop in Breitenleer Straße discovered Momentas as “his very own project” in 2015, according to his own statements. In it, the creative sole trader describes the Dalmatian Adriatic in culinary terms; since 2017, Momentas has even been the umbrella term for all of his company divisions.
