SeaHelp membership: Price adjustments 2025

A SeaHelp membership offers comprehensive all-round protection for almost all problems that can befall a skipper and his crew. After the prices for the practical SeaHelp membership (Standard, Smart, Premium and Charter Pass) have remained stable over the last two years, they now have to be moderately adjusted at the turn of the year.

“The last price adjustment was made at the turn of the year 2022 / 2023”, says SeaHelp Managing Director Wolfgang Dauser. The increase in prices for SeaHelp membership as of January 1, 2025 amounted to an average of 12.5 percent; if one takes the massive price increases in Croatia, where SeaHelp’s operations center is based, but also in Austria in the period from January 2022 to today, one comes to the conclusion that the price increase is necessary, but that it is “very moderate”.

“The main price drivers were and are the higher wages of helpline employees in Croatia, which have increased by up to 55 percent due to the introduction or increase in the minimum wage, the introduction of the euro and the general significant inflation in the country,” says Wolfgang Dauser.

SeaHelp had already pointed out the sometimes incomprehensible price developments in Croatia, a popular Adriatic anchorage, in recent years

This also applies to the wages of the deployment teams stationed in Croatia, which are currently up to 48 percent higher than in the same period in 2022. SeaHelp had already repeatedly pointed out and criticized the partly incomprehensible price development of the popular Adriatic coastal state Croatia in recent years.

In addition, there have been other cost factors, some of which have risen sharply, such as the wages of administrative staff in Croatia (up 21 percent) and in Austria (up 15 percent); the immense increase in the price of boat moorings in Croatia, some of which are up to 61 percent higher than two years ago, should also not be ignored. Finally, the costs for database maintenance and the homepage (up 23.7 and 13.5 percent respectively) have also risen significantly.

After prices have remained stable over the last two years, they will now have to be adjusted moderately at the turn of the year.

Concretely, the prices will be adjusted as follows at the turn of the year 2024 / 2025:

The price increase as of January 1, 2025 amounts to an average of 12.5 percent, the charter pass is also affected by the increase in contributions

The costs for the charter pass (14 days) have also been adjusted, namely from 99 euros (old) by 11 euros to (new) 110 euros, which corresponds to an increase of 11.1 percent, the so-called Spain surcharge is 13.4 percent (old: 119 / new: 135 euros, and the marina pass has increased by 16.7 percent from 36 euros (old) to 42 euros (new).

For administrative and marketing reasons, the decision was made to adjust the prices only every few years, so that advertising materials such as flyers and banners can be used for longer and thus protect the environment.

It pays to be quick, because the (lower) old prices still apply until 31.12.2024

Anyone who is currently considering whether they would like to join SeaHelp in the “case of emergency” – covered by a practical SeaHelp membership – would like to be able to use the nautical breakdown service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, should act quickly: “Anyone who applies for membership by 31. 12.2024, you can save money (approx. 12.5 percent, see above), because the previous prices will still apply until then,” says SeaHelp Managing Director Wolfgang Dauser.
