However, it is not only because of the exceptional service and friendly marina staff that many yacht owners like to tie up their lines for longer periods of time at Olive Island Marina: many water sports enthusiasts also appreciate the easy and quick connection by boat or ferry to Zadar, which with its warm and romantic ambience, combined with ancient Dalmatian customs, provides unforgettable cultural impressions and unadulterated vacation pleasure in the heart of Dalmatia.

The yacht is in good hands with the marina’s own service company Briza

For maintenance, overhaul and care of the yachts, the marina’s own service company Briza is ready all year round. The professionals are happy to provide regular maintenance of the vessel at the berth in the absence of the owner, if necessary. This service includes starting the engine and charging the batteries on board every month, as well as ventilating the cabin and checking the mooring ropes, fenders and bimini – especially before and after a storm.

If the owner wishes to have the yacht cleaned inside or out, the teak deck sanded and oiled, or the sails and equipment checked and repaired if necessary, Brizo is also a competent partner. Finally, the company’s range of services also includes the servicing of all types of outboard and inboard engines and electronics.

The marina, protected by a breakwater, can accommodate yachts up to 60 meters in length

The company also takes care of applying a new coat of antifouling paint; thanks to a newly acquired 40-ton crane, craning out motor and sailing yachts is possible at any time without any problems. Also on the marina premises is a nautical store, whose offer includes a wide range of items for maintenance, painting or equipment.

A 160-meter breakwater reliably protects the marina, which can accommodate yachts from 18 to 25 meters in length. There is also sufficient space outside the breakwater for superyachts (i.e. yachts from 24 to 60 meters in length). Another four fully equipped piers accommodate sailboats and motorboats from nine to 17 meters. If you want, you can book an annual contract with summer and winter berths right away.

Recommendable: a trip to Zadar, whether with your own yacht or by ferry

The prices are for a yacht up to 10.99 meters long (as of January 2022 – info according to the website) 5,500 euros / year, for a yacht up to 12.99 meters long 6,500 euros / year, and for a yacht up to 14.99 meters long 7,950 euros must be raked in per year. A yacht up to 20.99 meters long costs 13,400 euros / year; the prices for yachts over 21 meters long are available on request.

From the marina it is possible to visit Zadar, which is located on the opposite side. If you don’t feel like taking your own yacht to Zadar, you can use the ferry dock in Preko, which is about two kilometers away. If that’s too far for you, you can simply rent a bicycle or a scooter at the marina – or use a (somewhat more expensive) private ferry service right from the marina grounds.

Highlight in the Marina is the Olive Garden Restaurant

One of the highlights at Olive Island Marina is the cozy Olive Garden Restaurant, which always offers its guests fresh, high-quality traditional Dalmatian dishes at fair prices, enhanced by creative ideas from modern cuisine. “Our philosophy is: the quality comes first. Therefore, our food must be fresh every day and is supplied only by the best producers from the region”, says Anto Loncar, chef of Olive Garden Restaurant.

Olive Island Marina: Welcome to Olive Garden Restaurant

To welcome you, there’s a klapa, a traditional Dalmatian chant

If you’re lucky, restaurant staff will greet dinner guests with a traditional Dalmatian klapa, a mostly unaccompanied polyphonic chant performed in the southern Croatian historic region of Dalmatia on special occasions. The touching songs are about love, wine, home and – of course – love of the sea.
